Lifting, handling and positioning of two electric generators with Hydraulic Gantry Cranes
Another complex movement signed by Marraffa, this time in a thermoelectric plant in Sicily.
It involved lifting, handling and positioning two electric generators (each weighing 140 tons) with relative gas turbine (210 tons). The two generators adopt the Brayton production cycle (each section has a turbogas with a nominal power of 120 MW) and were handled with Hydraulic Gantry Cranes.
The same Hydraulic Gantry Cranes were transported inside the plant by Marraffa vehicles, subsequently assembled and disassembled with the utmost accuracy thanks to the work of our operators. The assembly of the Gantry Cranes, in fact, requires a very high degree of precision to guarantee the correct positioning of the load.
A handling carried out brilliantly thanks to the preparation of the Marraffa operators and the meticulous engineering study carried out by the technical office.
What Hydraulic Gantry Cranes are?
The Hydraulic Gantry is a mobile structure resembling a lift that uses a hydraulic lifting system that can be equipped with two or four pistons on which beams are installed to anchor the load to be lifted.
