Handling of a over 30 tons industrial press
The handling activity was accomplished through the use of heavy-duty electric skates
Marraffa was responsible for lifting, moving and positioning a 30 tons industrial press inside the Sava (Taranto) facility of Elettromeccanica Ciaurri, a manufacturer of LV switchboards.
The press was first moved outside the facility in which it was located, then lifted by our Tadano Faun ATF 70G-4 crane truck and subsequently loaded on a semi-trailer, which transported the press near another shed. The press was then unloaded and placed on special electric skates controlled by a Marraffa operator, who, after passing an access ramp to the shed, positioned the press at the spot requested by the customer.
What are heavy-duty electric skates
Electric trolleys are a special modular system of skates with hydraulic traction used for handling heavy loads easily, quickly and safely.
The system consists of three roller skates arranged in a triangle on which the workpiece to be handled is placed and a power pack. The high driving power of the trolleys allows them to overcome obstacles such as ramps, gate rails, grates, cross channels or uneven pavement.
